On electronic ignition (Thunderbolt IV) will it blow the module if the plug wires have a stainless steel core? Or do they have to have some resistence to them with the carbon core? I do know that solid core wires can cause radio noise but to me that is not an issue with me. Thanks in advance.........SS

Re: Spark Plug Wire ?'

Ayuh,... I donno SS, but I can't see why is would make a difference whether they're SSteel cored, or copper cored, or carbon cored...
They're just gettin' the power to the plug...

Unless you're making 'em up your self,...
Most wire sets for other applications are to short, or have the wrong ends in the wrong places....

As rarely as boat plug wires go Bad,...
I use the sets that are called for, by part #s...

Re: Spark Plug Wire ?'

Thanks Bondo,,,I have a roll of ignition cable with a silicone jacket cored with braided stainless. My existing wires I bought 5 years ago by part number and several have very high resistance now. Didn't have her in the water last year and the previous year she was sputtering pretty bad. She is getting a fresh tune up for this season. Just finished pumping out 18 gallons of 2 year old gas. I'll run that stuff in the tractor and lawn equipment. The Mrs isn't too happy shelling out the dock fees plus the $365 to fill the tank :D.....Oh well, I'll cook dinner for her and do the dishes, then she will get over it :D Thanks again.........SS
