I am summerizing my boat and am replacing my plugs. The motor is clearly marked that the boat should have AC-MR43LTS. The ones in there currently are AC 41-932.

Is this a generic or equivalent plug to the AC-MR43LTS?

I ask because I do get some run on when I don't have 93 octane in there. I wonder if the previous owner or the dealer changed them out because he got some run on too? I remember reading you can go to try a hotter plug in the merc service bulletin. I doubt this, because he only used the boat for 15 hours and did nothing to it but winterize, but I was surprised to not find the MR43LTS in there.

Also, when I finally pry off the painted on distributor cap, any recommendations on what to look for in terms of replacing it (I am at 50 hours not, but its 4 years old)?

Put in the proper plugs. The AC 41-932 is for the MPI engines, not carbed.

i do a cap and rotor as yearly pm. don't matter what the old one looks like. i just R&R it so i don't get a bad attitude on the water. least not by that.......
