Hi

I have a Mercury Optimax 115 from last year. In the manual it says, that I need to change the spark plugs after the first season (or 100 hours). But I get two different recommendations when I search the web. They are both from NGK and is called PZFR5F-11 or IZFR5G.

Are they the same? - Or does it not matter which I choose?

Yours sincerely

Jan Jorgensen,
Denmark

PZFR5F-11 is a platinum plug
IZFR5G is a Iridium plug

They both have the same "heat range", but stick with the iridium plug. It's less susceptable to fouling during extended idling.

"I" is for Iridium

"P" is for platinum

Mercury's part catalog calls for the NGK IZFR5J

I would stick with it...
