spark plugs

I have a 1974 70hp johnston the manual says it uses spark plug L77C4 but can only find L77JC4 plugs, are these the same? also in the manual it says it takes about 24.5 oz of oil but I can not seem to get that much in the lower leg.

L77JC4's will be fine. Use as much as it takes to fill the lower unit. Not an exact science, as there may be some residual oil left in the leg....
