I have a '95 150 Black Max, here is the deal. Merc. Specs. NGK BU8H, Which crosses to Champion L6VC. My 89' tower of power 115 used L76V with the same ignition components. L6VC is a hard pulg to find. The Clymer manual says L76V is the cross for NGK BU8H. So here is my cood questoion are the L76V's ok for the '95 Black Max 150 or do I have to use BU8H or L6VC. Thanks for the help/

Re: Spark Plugs

Use the Champion plugs only if you like getting towed in!

Tryed them in my 135 HP Mercury, and they failed after only 3 hours!

Stick with the NGK's, I run them religiously, and this is the first time in 3 years that I changed them.

There was absolutly no wear on them, and would have run another 3 years!

Just my opinion.

Re: Spark Plugs

I have owned two inline six mercs and ngk was what i used. Once I bought stainless champion plugs and it would not run smooth, so I put the old ngk plugs in and it was perfect. Don't know why but my mercs liked ngk.
