03 VMax 150 is starting to act up this year. WOT with JP at max/full trim, motor looses power and sounds like a miss in the engine until I fully stop, turn off the motor and restart, then everything is fine. Random occurances, 3 times so far this season. I've pulled the plugs twice and they all look normal(lightly coated with oil) with the exception of top starboard ( I'm assuming #1), which appears to be running clean and no oily residue. Is there anyway to adjust the carb to richen up that cylinder just a bit. I've checked the idle screws which are in spec.

Re: Spark Plugs

ok I found it, just making sure as the Vmax was made in a few configurations in that year.
the clean plug may indicate a lack of fuel or a water leak into the cylinder.
you may wish to look into fuel delivery/carbs.
the fuel pumps dont last forever and carbs get plugged.

Re: Spark Plugs

Thanks for the reply. The plug dosn't look washed out, just very dry in comparison to the others. I looked it over and found no green or milky residue. The fuel pumps pump up good and hold pressure at the bulb, but I'll go ahead and change em out since their rather inexpensive. 148 hours on the carbs. I'm a little scared of em. Would I have to go through all 3 carbs or get by with just the top one. Thanks again..
