Re: spark plugs

i always favor champion over NGK. the -2 plug has a wider gap for the spark to jump. i would use the champion cross for it if i were you. they always seem to last longer for me. the champion is a L77V for the buhw or a L78V for the buhw-2

Re: spark plugs

I had buhw in but replaced with the buhw-2 not knowing the difference and seem to work fine, Do you think it is a bad idea (I have a case of these plugs ) brand new

Re: spark plugs

what engine is it for? Engines generally spec one brand or another - in their own manuals, not the spark plug cross reference charts. It's best to go with the brand and # spec'd. For instance, Johnson/Evinrude generally spec Champion and most experts I've talked to say Champions are really the ones to get. Mercs, I think, generally spec NGK, although my 1974 Merc calls for Champion so I use champion in that too.

Re: spark plugs

try oldmercs.com. They might have the plug reference for your engine.
