spark plugs

(newby) just asking!!! johnson outboard model j150vxsss 2000. got the boat last may 2010
plugs in it are champion QL78YC boat run's fine, again just asking... is there a different plug I could run..

I dont know if there is a better plug or not, thats why I am asking the question???
like I said the boat run's fine but would like to know if there is a different plug I could run.
I tried to run a champion in my harley found out that is a BIG NO.. all I am doing is getting info..

Sparkplugs built today are VERY good. If you get one that is not the right one for a engine. The plug insulator starts to get darker or start blistering away. The metal points get blackish and lose the sharp edges.

If the plug looks always like it is still new ? It IS THE CORRECT ONE. Use only that brand & type. I have 2.... 4 stroke engines that always have spark plugs that look brand new after hundreds of hours of use.

You are in the prop section.You will be better off in the non repair outboard section or possibly in the
Evinrude/Johnson section seeing your Q is specific to a Johnson motor and if a change is suggested it might be called a repair Q.
