Replaced plug wires on a '91 90hp Johnson, as they were original and I was having intermittent problems with one wire.<br /><br />When I got everything back together, I fired it up in the driveway and pulled each wire off the plug, as sort of a continuity test. The engine responded to each wire pull by rough running, and smooothed out again when the wire was reattached. The lower port wire removal caused less of a difference than the other three. Does this mean anything significant?<br /><br />All cylinders are about 120 lbs compression. I rebuilt the carbs four years ago, and the plugs all look good--light brown color, fairly dry.<br /><br />Would the one cylinder reacting a little different mean leaning out of a carb, or a plug wire with slightly more resistance, or am I just being anal and shouldn't worry about it.<br /><br />The motor gets a lot of fairly high rpm use, and runs great.
