I have a 1988 Force 125, which has a "tempurature" wire from the engine. I assume this is connected to the alarm under the dash. Is this just an overheating alarm on/off, or can it be attached to a gauge and give me a tempurature reading?

Its an on/off, unless someone installed a temperature sending unit.

I would go with a water pressure guage. Very easy to install. And it tells you as soon as the water flow is obstructed, not after your motor overheats.

Pressure guage kits are $40-60, complete.
