Special tourque wrench for coupler?

Hello, I have a 1978 305 that goes into an I drive. I am putting the flywheel and coupler back on and can not get a socket on it in order to tourqe it down. I had to take it off with a wrench. What are you guys using to get a tourque wrench on the coupler bolts? Also is 60lb the correct tourque? I really don't want to have to buy a new open ended tourque wrench.
Thanks for your help.

Howdy,

Just get yourself a set of crowfoot or flare-nut wrenches.

Use elastic stop nuts too.

You could probably just get them "good&tight" but I would use a torque wrench.

You'll need a service manual to get the torque values for your particular engine.

Good idea, thanks. Anyone know about the touque specks for the flywheel? I don't have a manual.
Thanks

Well the crow?s foot was a good idea, but.... It did not get the head of the torque wrench far enough away from the coupler to work. Maybe a different set would have worked but the place I went to only had one set.
I decided to just try to tighten it down in small increments as even as I could rotating my pattern and I put a small dab of lock tight on encase I didn't get them tight enough.

In case someone wants to go "By The Book", here is from Service manual #3 for the 78 thru 84 V8 engines.

Note that the torque is NOT 50 to 60 ft lbs.

i always like to go by the book. things work out better.

but i've got a question. how do you torque down the nuts to a specific value when the proper tool to use isn't a torque wrench? other than bondo and achris's torque wrench elbow... not that i've not done that before...
