The standard bore is 3.500". Pistons come standard, .020, .030, .044 and .064 over. A good marine machine shop will know what to bore it to once you tell them what pistons you're getting. All this info is in the service manual. Do not attempt a rebuild without a manual. An OE manual is best.

Avoid automotive machine shops unless they have done outboards for a number of years.

Avoid used pistons.

The part number of the head is cast into it. Look at the number on the GOOD head and get the mate to it. The bad head you have now may or may not be the mate. The port head is one number lower than the starboard head. Again -- don't worry about the number on the bad head. Get the mate to the good head.
