I was wondering if anyone has any specs for my Merc 500 50 HP s/n 2477646 they could share. It has the 15" shaft. I want to build a little stand to support it while I rewire the motor.

Thanks

Rob

Weight should be right at 177#. 2x4's bolted together should do nicely.

Mark

Texasmark,

Thanks for the info. I didn't think it quite weighed 200#. Maybe a sturdy sawhorse should do the trick.

Rob

old mercs.com has the premade factory harnesses. just put one on my 71 1350. easy job, did it right on the boat.

Tashasdaddy,

The price was probably worth it, how much did you spend for the harness on your '71?

rob it seems like around 140 - 150. but was worth the job only took about 30 minutes. plus a new/old stock controller with harness 140 from ebay. now i have a completely rewired engine, change plug wires last year. it made a big difference.
