speedometer question

my speedo is water fed via hose from lower unit, merc 150 hp 1980 model. do they make an adapter to hook a mechanical speedo up or no. i am replacing all my gauges and the stewart warner catalog only showed mechanical or electric speedo, did not know if mechanical was the water fed one or what?

There are a couple of types that I have seen. 1 is the original water pressure type at the front of the L/U. Other is the same principle using a pitot tube connected to the transom and the 3rd is the spinning wheel type like you find on the Humminbird sounder which is electronic.<br />Note.. I have the original type on my 80 Merc and it is pretty accurate according to GPS speed reading.
