I have a 150 xr6 and I was trying to clean the speedometer hole in front with a small drill bit and the friggin thing broke off inside and the more I try to grab it the farther it goes in. How can I tell where that air tube comes out to blow some air in it without taking the lower unit off? Can I just disconnect it directly from the speedometer in the dash and blow some air in it that way?

Instead of trying to grab it, try this before you start taking some things apart, get a super strong magnet and see if it will pull it out, of course I'm assuming the drill bit is ferrious and the material around the hole is aluminium. Just an idea.

Are you talking about at the speedo or on the motor? I know on the omc's the fitting just pulls out, they are pressed in.

There's a rubber line coming out of the LU just above the cav plate along with the shift shaft. About a foot up the line is a splice connector. That's the line to the speedometer.

If you survive this one, make a mental note to just twist a drill between your fingers till you break through the bug nest, then hit it with a little air from the hose end.

hope it helps

Heck no, it's right out in the open It's the rubber hose dangling down outside the steering pivot.

If it's missing, you might as well leave the drill bit, the speedo won't work anyway.

Duplicate, dang I love it when iBoats gets hung up on the ad servers and fuddles things up.
