I have a 1995 Force 90HP. My speedometer doesn't work and the tube looks like it's going into the lower unit. Is there a hole down there that is possibly clogged and can be cleaned out?

Assuming it's like a sterndrive lower gear housing, there is a notch just above the torpedo/bullet nose. It's common for these to plug after striking wood trash. Most plugs can be dug out with a 1/16 - 3/32" drill. Any drill large enough to enter the hole behind the notch without enlarging the hole, or jamming and breaking off. A cordless drill with a gentle hand will remove most plugs. The gentle hand will keep you from drilling too deep into the aluminum at the back of the hole.

Sometimes they get clogged and sometimes the hose/fitting breaks inside the drive.
You can add a pitot tube and adapt that to your hose to the speedometer.

I trimmed the motor up as far as it would go and I could see the tube. I'm going to have to get it out of the water to get to the hole.
