Took my boat out for the first time this season and my speedometre gauge does not work. My RPM gauge reeds slightly higher than usual and my trim gauge is acting up .
Last season everything was running fine.

Where to start ?

Engine is 5.0 Gxi volvo with penta drive 2007

Clean the debris out of the pitot. As for the tach -- "somewhat higher than usual" is not a good measure of accuracy. What did it read and what does it now read. And just what do you mean by trim gauge is acting up. Acting up how? Details -- details -- details.

- The Tach is running 0500rpm higher than usual cause I'm running a 3 blade 19" prop . Last season I had a 4 blade 18" prop. Should it be the other way around ?
- I had my penta drive re-painted . Pilot was full of paint. After taking the boat up to speed....MAGIC! The speedometre came back to life.
- Trim gauge is the only persistant problem. When my drive is all the way down , my gauge reads only 3/4 down.
