Finally got the SS 18 wet yesterday. Thought the weather was going to stop us. It was actually raining when we left the house. It cleared up and the water was glass. Boat performed well. No leaks. Handled the DF115 with no problem. Motor performed well. Got her to 40 mph at 6k rpm with the 22 pitch SS prop. Jumped out of the hole and planed really nice. Cruised really well at 4k rpm at around 25 mph. Speedometer tracked really close to the GPS speed. Had three in the boat. Cruised around 25 miles and burned about 5 gallon of gas. Not bad. I have a few minor issues to deal with before the next outing. Pee stream was going good in the yard during preflight and for the first part of the trip, then it quit working so good. Never overheated but I was a little worried till we got back. Trim switch on the control handle is flakey. Goes down good but you have to think good thoughts and hold your mouth just right to get it to trim up. Going to replace the switch and impeller, which I really should have already done. Next time out, I'll try the 24 pitch prop and see how it performs. Really couldn't be any more pleased. Just a couple of pics and they're not that good. She's not as pretty as a lot of the restored boats you guys have done, but she runs good. Now I can start to think about how I want to restore her and make her better looking and more functional. The work and fun has just begun. Thanks for all the advice and help that got me here.
