Been out of boating for 15 yrs. Decided 2 yrs ago to get back in and it took a while to find the right boat for me and the fam.

Found it last October --- 21' Wellcraft Eclipse. Volvo Penta 5.8FL w/SX drive. 300 hrs.

Here she is last October.

She really needed just cleaning and some maintenance, impeller, prop, fuel sender, 2 battery setup w/charging relay, couple of grounding issues, etc.

Fiberglass was chalky, so I used two tubs of Aqua-Buff 1000 and 2000 and my 2500RPM polisher to bring the shine back. The red stripe was faded pink, so I re-sprayed it. A base coat-clear coat paint was going to be $140 in paint!!! I tried out the Rustoleum Topside Red for $14. Came out great, very glossy too.

To freshen up the exterior, I went with some vinyl graphics. Might be hard to see in the pic b/c overcast day, but there is a lot of sparkle pinstripe on there that glistens in the sun. Interior was perfect just grimey. Magic Eraser brought all the white vinyl back to perfect and clean.

Lastly, I went with a kicker sound system, 4 speakers, sub, Sony head unit, and 2 Kicker amps. NICE ! ! !

Everything went well with the shakedown. Nice to be back on the water!!!

Only bummer is my 4 blade 21p prop only hit 3900 RPM 45MPH @ WOT. My motor WOT RPM should be around 4400. I'll have to explore some new prop setups.

Beautiful job on your mini-restoration. The decals look like they have always been there - blend nicely with the lines. Congrats on getting back out on the water.

Thanks - the trailer is a 1985 Tee Nee. Pretty old and needed a makeover. I still have work to do on the trailer, I just noticed a split in the brake line.

I painted the trailer myself. By no means am I a pro painter, but I practiced with my 30 gal air compressor and a hvlp gun. I took off the fenders and sanded them down. Needed some body filler in a few spots too. For the trailer, there were a few rust spots I sanded off, then primed everything. The paint is a single stage satin black from Eastwood.

I probably have $100 in paint/supplies for the trailer and I spent around 6 hrs on it.
