I'm almost done with the transom replacement, Just a few things to finish up. I ordered these aluminum drain tubes for the splashwell drains.

It turns out these are 1/2" too short for the thickness of the transom. It seems the only thing I can find that is long enough is Brass - not aluminum. Would it be ok to use the Brass instead of the aluminum? Will it cause corossion?

Brass is used in a lot of applications. Since these are above the waterline, the corrosion should be minimal.

Be aware that those brass drain tubes require an o ring behind the flare.

I made mine out of pvc fittings and thick flexy-tubing from lowes. The kind you use for plumbing. The tubing is the clear tubing that they cut for you by the foot. It works great. I can post some pics if you would like. I think its way better than those plastic tubes or even the brass or stainless. The way they install you know 100 percent that no water is getting inside the transom. The parts are verry cheap as well.
