I've got a 1997 J55RSLC that had it's tiller handle kill switch wires cut. Would it be alright if I splice them until I order a new one? If I can splice them do the wires need to be connect specifically e.g. wire A to wire A? The wires afaik are not color coded.
TIA

If I am thinking correctly, you don't want to splice them togeather or your engine woun't start.

Splice them. Your kill switch will work again.

Hmmm...if the two wires were cut, it points to the fact that there was a problem, the emergency kill switch MAY have been the problem. You can meter the two wires going to the switch (towards the handle), for Normally Open . If should show a Closure when you press it.
If the readings are as indicated , you can hook it up. If they AREN'T, then a new switch is needed.

OP did'nt specify how/why the wires were cut. My bad, the switch may be bad. Hook them up and see if it works or won't start. 2-wires cut= 4 wires, one from switch to engine, the other from switch to engine. Doesn't matter which one. Doesn't start or shutoff? Buy a switch.
