Hi Guys,

I've got some splits in the ventilation tubes in the back of my bayliner 175 with mercruiser 3L.... What do you guys usually replace these with so it doesnt happen again?

Cheers

Are you referring to the blower vent tubes used to circulate fresh air to the bilge? The stuff that looks like dryer vent tubing? If that's what you mean, you replace it with the same product. They all become brittle and deteriorate over time. Marine stores carry the replacement tubes in lengths. No shortcutting allowed here. Hope that helps. Happy Labor Day

yeah....dryer vent hoses are cheap. but measure the size...you could have 3 inch.....if you cant find it at the local hardware store...you will have to go marine. then it gets pricy. marine hoses made of a different material...kinda rubberish.

if the cracked hose is in the fresh air inlett.....it wont matter....but if it is in the one that attaches to the blower and exhausts out the vent....it needs to be replaced

It is only the fresh air hose thats got a few splits in it, The blower hose however is fine....

Ill have a look at a few places and see what I can find.

If the fresh air hose has splits, the blower hose is not far behind. Might want to think about doing both just for safety reasons.

If it is 3" you can get "sewer drain" hose for a R.V. pretty cheap from walmart or any R.V. dealer. It is rubberized and should stand up well.
