I have a Mercury Marine Sport Jet 90 Searayder and fuel is dripping from the bottom carb, not the bowl but the air intake throat. I've taken off the bowl cover and the float and needle valve seem to be free and working. Any ideas to solution would be appreciated. Very hard to start, not sure if is flooding or not getting any fuel at all. Thanks

float may be free, and needle not.

Either the float level is a hair too high or the needle is not a perfect seal on the seat.

You should check BOTH, adjust float height and/or replace the needle and seat, bench test by connectinng a fuel line w/priimer bulb and pump it up, look for any excess fuel.

these guys are all right but don't forget the carb float vent lines these lines would plug at the 90 dreg fitting coming out of carb body.
