sport jet 90

I was told that I didn't winterize my '94 sea raider properly. It looks like I could have either a bad head gasket or a cracked block. Is there an easy way to find out which it is? Water gets into the bottom cylinder, and it jams up. If it turns out to be a cracked block - any suggestions??
