Sport Jet compression issues

I have a 95 Sport Jet 90 with WOT power problems. I originally thought it was a bad fuel pump. I checked the compression today and found 100 PSI on #1 and #3, but around 50PSI on #2. I am assuming this is a burned piston since the only way I could start cold was with staring fluid (wished I read the forums) Is there a possibility of something else like a head gasket? Is it possible that the boat could still run on plane with the possibility that the compression is the same as when it was running good? Should I even rebuild the fuel pump and try it or would that be a waste of time?

Let's assume I need a new piston / rings. Will I have to remove the motor from the boat (95 Baja blast)? Does anyone know where I can get pistons / rings or a whole re-ring or rebuild kit?

Any advice I can get is greatly appreciated. I have had the boat for about a month and have had around a day and a half's enjoyment out of it. My kids are really looking forward to using the boat again soon.

I can and will do the work myself. I doubt if there is anyone near me that even works on boats like this.

Re: Sport Jet compression issues

Status update: Pulled the Motor last night. Pulled the head and found the problem. Blown head gasket.

Can anyone tell me about the tubes that are wedged in between the cylinder walls in a few places?
