I have a sports jet 90 inboard that the bottom carb will not stop leaking. Shop has rebuilt the carb twice with no luck. Any Ideas would be greatly apreciated.

You will get a lot better answers over on the Force outboard forum. All the sportjets are is an outboard powerhead stuck on a jet drive.

Re: Sports jet 90 bottom carb leaks

With My SportJet 90 I had a problem with the vent elbows clogging up and causing the fuel bowls to never fill up due to trapped air (end result is fuel leaking out of Carb since the floats will never close).

To test this, remove each of the 3 elbows (2 are Ts) and see if the problem persists. If it is fixed, try using a nail or something to clean out the elbows and replace.
These are the elbows connected to the yellow vacuum line that runs to the top of the carb cover.

Hope this helps, No one had this advice when I had the problem- multiple shops had tried to rebuild carbs and checked the engine, but never seemed to catch it.

-Don

Gotta go with Don on this one. Common problem. The vents will gum up and you usually have to spray them clean with carb cleaner or soak them in cleaning solution.
