Hello,
I now own my first Mercury outboard, 2001 XR6 150 HP
When idling with water muffs on there is pressurized water spraying out from where the engine block bolts onto the unit below. I am guessing a seal where the coolant tube connects to the engine ??
I have a service manual but not finding any info on that connection.
Appreciate any help or if you think I have a different problem please advise.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

It is not a big job, if you have done it before. Drop the gearcase first. It is best to use some sort of hoist to lift the powerhead up to clear the powerhead studs. Then you can scrape off the old gasket and install a new one. Hoisting the powerhead is a lot easier with the lifting eye Merc specifies. They are avail on fleabay and other places.
