Spring is Here !!!

Well, first really nice day here in S.W. Ontario. Took the winter cover off, took out the mothballs and downy sheets, all looks well inside. Pulled her out from the side of the house to the driveway. Ran a compression check (cold) all 4 cylinders reading 140 psi (give or take about 5 psi. primed her up and turned her over. Fired up after about 4 seconds with the muffs on. Water pouring out of the pee hole, changed plugs and fired up instantly. Hopefully the start of a great season !!! Some waxing and fitting the stereo, new compass and 12 volt power outlet and hopefully in the water and at the dock next weekend.
FINALLY !!!!! Spring is here !!!!

First winter with this set up. I was a little nervous about it. just got to decide which prop to start the season with. Probably the 19" pitch as I dont think tubing and ski-ing is on the cards quite yet as the lake is far too cold at the moment !!

I took the dinghy out for ride three times this weekend (Ottawa River)
Except the low on fuel fiasco everything was great !

I'm jealous of you on this point. I got my boat out and started in the driveway in a big trough and mine isn't pumping at all.

Yep - I splashed my 15-footer yesterday as we had the first decent weekend since the ice went out almost a month ago! The weather had been absolutely miserable here in the 1000 Islands for awhile. Made up for it this weekend, though...

I'm usually boating by now. One lake about 75 kilometres from home is open year round courtesy of a powerplant. Hmm... I wonder if Blinky the 3 Eyed fish survived the winter?

It might be a spider.

It actually happened to my Dad. He launched his boat, started it up and noticed there was no water peeing out. So , back on the trailer and to the local marina. The guy got a wire and ran it up the pee hole and pulled out a spider nest.

He said this happens quite often. I have heard that weed wacker line works well for this. I guess it will dislodge the blockage and it will shoot out with the water.

today, SUCKED, lost spark on # 1 on the 58 35hp Johnny, ordered new flywheel guts, prepped the waverunner, got to the ramp, forgot to put plugs in, caught it before off the trailer. when back to put them in and 1 was missing. came home, found it in the back yard where the tangs had been broken off. yesterday, i ran the little neighbor angels away from the stearn, of it. they're good kids just kids. I"M GONNA KILL"EM. too late to go back.
