A while back I saw a trailer at the ramp parking lot that had some guide poles that I am trying to locate.
The things were fiberglass orange poles ,kind of like bicycle flags, mounted on springs. When you unloaded the boat they spring up about 3 feet , when you load the boat they contact the hull and bend over horizontal under the boat. they mount to the rear of the trailer about 3 feet apart. I am trying to find these things for my trailer cause the wife has trouble in murky water hitting the trailer straight some times. Probly would not be hard to make if you could get the correct spring , Some times things are just easier to buy that to build yourself. any body got any ideas?

Although this is not exacly what you are referencing, it appears to be somewhat similar. I happened to remember something somewhat similar in my 2008 Bass Pro Shops hardbound fishing catalog. I went and looked in my catalog and my memory was correct. It is called "Launch 'n Load", item number 21-528-824-00. You might want to also try searching Iboats, Cabelas or Overtons and some other boat trailer supply internet catalogs to see other options, and you may find the one identical to the one you reference.

why not just put guide on on the trailer, and kill 2 birds.

Spring-loaded guide-ons would work well except when the wind or current are working against you. Wouldn't be too hard to make though.
