i have lost a few mphs and i break traction when i go to power out of a sharp turn....... i only gain 2-3mph between 3/4 and wot...it used to be very noticeable when you hammer down from cruising speed

i marked the prop as per ezeks method and it is slipping.

what has me confused is i thought i would loose my hole shot if the hub was spun.

is this normal to still have a good hole shot???.....if it was any better my lil boat would practically jump out of the water.........of course that would be ok with me too ;)

it is a '79 johnson 115 with a 13x19 cupped prop .... factory prop..and im pretty sure its stainlesss

i havent put a stopwatch to it but i gets up on plane in seconds.

Re: spun hub??

Sounds typical of a prop that has worn the tip cup down.

Re: spun hub??

The trailing edge cup is worn down or starting to wear down. Especially out by the tip of the blades. I doubt the hub is slipping. I guess it's possible to replace a hub if you can buy one and have the cone and propper glue. It's not that expensive to have it done but again, that probably isn't the issue.

heres how i marked it.......everytime i would take it for a spin and come back to the dock it would be clocked in a different position.......of course they were aligned when i made them.
