Spun prop or what

hello gentlemen. anyone ever spun a prop hub? if so can you tell me was it very easy to tell just by looking at prop or what? the reason im asking is because my boat has cut through alot of seaweed lately and recently the outdrive just went into a no gear state( makes just a ratcheting sound) while underway engine revved high the whole nine yards oh yeah!! its a 1984 omc 800 stringer full mechanical shift/ with a ballistic stainless propeller

Spun a couple. It was easy to tell with it on the boat in the water. The motor reved, but the boat didn't go anywhere. I had to limp back at just above an idle.

what did the spun prop look like to the naked eye

With a spun hub if u put a paint mark on the hub and prop casing and run it then take it off if the line does not match up its spun...most marina's will re hub them or a Prop shop will I found a prop shop is cheaper and will also look over the prop for u in case its bad or out of balance...
