Squeaking fuel pump?

Hi all!

Another thing occured while testing my boat! When testing the engine on muffs, it started making squeaking sounds when i start the engine / let it idle. If i rev it up, the sound is gone. It's not the belts, that's for sure (all new & spanned). The sound is coming from the fuel pump area. Will it break down? Should i replace it? Or can i take it apart & grease any parts in it? It's like 11 years old (Volvo penta 3.0). Wouldn't like to be left stranded next week on the sea

Thanx!

Re: Squeaking fuel pump?

There is a spring inside the fuel pump that could break,if that happens,it would sound like a main bearing knocking, squeaking, don't know about that.
