So after attacking 10 inches of wet snow with the tractor mounted snowblower at 4:30 this morning my machine (430 JD diesel) started to squeel and shoot sparks out of were the electromagnet clutch is (will not engage and turn auger with a load).
I am pretty sure the preasure plate side is gone, looking for some input on this one guys???

thanks

Maybe it was 10 inches of wet snow. ;)

Sometimes those clutches will squeal, if the "air gap", is not set right, but if yours is throwing sparks and non-functioning, it may have gone "south". They use the same clutch as the 318.

Are you sure the snowblower will turn freely?

OH YA, the chain was so loose it was skipping.
Definetly a metal on metal sound when the auger gets a load of snow on (under load).

Ordered one in, $360.00 plus tax UGH!!!!

This has been a great machine, I do not mind replacing the wear parts cause I use it to death (snow blowing, brush cutting, rock launching/lawn mowing ETC
