I have a 1997 4.3L Mercruiser I/O. We were on vacation with the boat for 2 weeks and was running it daily. During the later portion of the trip, I noticed a soft squeek coming from the engine compartment. Sounded like the belt was squeeking mulitple times a second. I can't start to hear the squeek until I'm reved to roughly 3000RPM or more. More RPM, faster squeek. I checked the belt and the tension seems fine. Belt doesn't look worn. Also, it was replaced a couple years ago when a power steering pulley failed (old plastic design that was improved). This past weekend, the squeek continued.
Wondering if there is anything I can check or do to get me to the end of the season?
