SS and Aluminum RPM Difference

This is a general question as opposed to a specific one. I have read where if you change from a 3 blade prop to an equivalent 4 blade that it should lower your RPM by about 100. My question is this. If you simply change from a 3 blade aluminum to a 3 blade SS will the RPM usually change? I know that some variance can occur with brands and styles but I am wondering if there is a general rule about changing from AL to SS.
Thanks.

Re: SS and Aluminum RPM Difference

Thats a lot tougher change to evaluate.Very generally a ss prop will out
perform an al. of same pitch.Though that can vary from a few tenths to several mph.On rare occasions usually from poor selection a ss might not do better. As far as rpm the ss could be lower or higher rpm. and still out perform the al.
There are al props that perform close to that of ss.
