Re: ss prop

No stainless props for 55Hp Chryslers. Bronze. I don't know if any were offered for Chryslers, but the prop is very much like those used on Johnson/Evinrudes. I had one rehubbed to a splined Chrysler hub for my brother's boat. You can't get them new anymore but they eBay such props all the time. Current item 120128875904 would be one example. It says it's for an old 25Hp, but that would be a very old early to mid fifties 25. It would also fit up to 40Hp which is what my brother's came from. Item 150130565612 is a speed prop that would be interesting to try. The props will fit on the shaft without rehubbing. They use the shear pin to keep it in place and to shear the pin should you strike a hazard with it. Chrysler splined hubs won't shear the pin, the pin just holds those in place. You don't absolutely have to have it rehubbed. It cost $58 to rehub my brother's.
