SS question

Great forum you guys have here with lots of info. Now i have a question. I just bought a 1978 Glastron bassboat with a 175hp Evinrude thats been bored out to about 240hp. The prop on it has hit its fair share of rocks and has big chips taken out of it "done before I bought it'. I would like to replace it with a SS prop of the same size. Right now its a 14 1/4 X 21. Would this be a good idea or should I put the same kind back on? I will mainly do fishing and cruiseing with some sking in the future.<br /><br />Thanks<br />Jason

OK please forgive my ignorance but what is WOT? I dont have any idea what my RPM is because I have only had the boat out once since I have owned it less then a week. I plan on going out today so I will check the RPM. Thanks for the welcome.<br /><br />Jason

How far do you have to bore a 175hp to hit 240hp?

From my calculations....about an inch each hole.<br />

Wow one inch! The piston must be sitting inside the water jacket.

220hp. Sorry for that im still fairly new to this boating thing and read the work order wrong. I didnt get a chance to get out to the lake and test the WOT. The weather here has sucked with rain but will try this weekend.<br /><br />jason

Its actually written on a work order that they changed/bored a 175 to a 220? Wow....

Jason, post back with RPM and we'll help ya get that 200+hp rig runnin'.....<br />That work order give any piston P/N's or sizes???<br />Any Carb changes made??
