Hi guys - so I had a uk build glastron ssv151 - the floor was starting to rot - you stamp on it and it starts to bow a bit.

So I then bought a new boat - ssv151 us build - looks very tidy (except the gel coat but they never do!) I jumped on the floor it feels very strong so I think floors been recently done.

Today I found a loose bit of carpet and was going to stick it down. I peeled it back and realized there is NO wood underneath...just a load of fiberglass, I carried on pulling back and no wood anywhere!

Should I worry?

Im paranoid someone has just ripped the wood out and put the carpets down? is this a possibility? Not really sure what to do...

Welcome to the dry dock,

Post up some pics of what you have and let us have a look...:photo:

In most cases, the wood is under the fiberglass...
The biggest worry is due to the age of the boat and under what conditions it has been kept...

We'll know more as we get more info...

Hard to tell definitively, but it looks normal from this distance...
The wood should be underneath the fiberglass...
You could drill a shallow hole, maybe 3-5mm, into the fiberglass and see what behind it...if all is well, you can seal up the hole with a dab of epoxy or marine sealant...
Do you feel any give or flex to the deck when you walk around on it?
