I would suggest you get a set of charts, there is a Canadain Channel and American, there are small craft channels also, has well has commercial shipping, you will also need to purchase Lock passes also The seaway is very busy and can be confusing without Charts, the trip should take about 2 day's.

Make sure you and all your passengers have an i68 from US immigration. It is mandatory if your boat docks anywhere in US territory. We just had an incident in the detroit River. 3 guys where speeding on the US side. The coast guard pulled them in for speeding, and since they did'nt have an i68 sent them to prison in Grand Rapids. They spent 1 month in jail because the immigration offical responsible for the paper work was on vacation.Kinda takes the fun out of speeding!!

Enjoy your trip

Jim
