How long is Sta-Bil good for once it is in the gas tank if the tank isn't used all that much? I have a tank not quite empty that is almost a year old.

HHMMMMM, I was going to post differently, but I think you need to dump it in your truck a little at a time and put fresh fuel in your boat, even if its premix.

Re: Sta-Bil

They don't put a number on it cuz it all depends on the temperature and exposure to oxygen. If it's put in fresh gas, it helps for a matter of several months in average conditions. Adding it to gas that is already old does no good except to keep it from getting worse. It won't restore old gas.

I have used some that was 2+ years old. But I wouldn't do it with a motor I cared about or depended on.

I'm far from being an expert but I was told by a local small engine repair shop that the new gas formulas break down fast and should not be kept in any tank for much more than a month, even with Sta-bil.
