Ok, I'm not real educated on this so please bear with me.
I know everyone recommends Sta-bil for fuel stablizer in two and four cycle engines. I'm still a little "iffy" about putting the stuff in two cyle pre mix (25-1 or 50-1). The thing that bothers me is that pre mix fuel is supposed to be agitated(shaken) before use if it's sat for any period of time because the oil starts to seperate. I understand that the stabil will preserve the gas, but what about the oil's distribution in the gas?
I'm afraid if I dump it in a tank of 50-1, run it through an engine, then let the engine sit for 3-6 months the oil will seperate from the gas and cause problems in my carbs. I have way to many outboards not to know the answer to this one.

StaBil (or similar products) are not only recommended, its use is madatory for long term storage of two and four cycle engines. Oils are a lot better today and don't separate like they used to. The purpose of a fuel conditioner is to prevent the problem you are so afraid of causing. SeaFoam is another brand that is very popular. I use it in every tank of fuel.

We winterize between 100 and 125 boats a year, and have used Stabil,OMC 2+4,and CRC stabilizer.Zero problems with fuel, carbs or oil separation.Been doing it for 21 years now.

DHP
