Re: stabilizer

I don't think you can put "too much" stabilizer, but I use a bit more than recommended on the container, all :)depending on how long your motor will be laid up. It's also a good idea to drain each carb float chamber just to be sure all water and debris is gone. Look for a drain screw near the bottom of each carb, hold a rag under it to catch it if you drop it. Good Luck!

Re: stabilizer

How much too much do you think you added? A few ounces shouldn't matter much. I would leave it over the winter and in the spring time remove fuel and replace with fresh.

Re: stabilizer

Clearly states on the bottle there are no adverse effects from adding "too much"; other than the adverse effect on your wallet, which is NOT clearly stated on the bottle.:p

Re: stabilizer

If you relly want to do something nice for your motor, install a Walmart/Attwood Fuel/Water Separator Filter($27) on your transom to filter out water, dirt, trash, whatever from ever reaching your carbs. That filter and the fuel Stabilizer, and you will eliminate most fuel-related problems. And fuel related problems account for at least 2/3rds of motor issues. Good Luck!:)

Re: stabilizer

Just install it on your transom, leave the under-cowl mounted filter in place as a back-up just in case some trash gets past the big filter. I don't know what the micron rating is but it works like a charm, and I just unscrew mine now and then, dump it out, and screw it back on. I finally put a new cartridge on after 3 or 4 years, but I hack-sawed the old one open to see what was in it and it looked pretty much like new inside. Good Luck!

You could.... A few years ago I added way too much to my leaf blower and it didn't run right. I replaced that gas with fresh fuel and its been better since. I don't know how volatile and flammable fuel stabalizer is but I'm guessing too much mixture won't ignite aswell.
