Staining

Maybe im just very ignorant but tell my why I cannot stain in my basement durring the winter??? Is it because of the fumes or is it because of the vapors igniteing???

Both of the above sound like good reasons to me...<br /><br />Mostly because of the nasty vapors, need good ventilation or you go loopy in the head.<br /><br />Any chance you can rig up some ventilation to the outside?

I have 4 egress windows in a 1200 sq ft basement and i guess i could borrow a barn fan or two

The staining usually isn't as bad as the varnishing.

i stain in mine all the time. i just run a little fan in one of the window, like roscoe said the varnishing is bad one, but if your just brushing it on and not spraying it on i still do that in the basement too. wouldnt want to chance spraying it on tho
