stainless prop?

I have a 17ft fishing boat with a 40-hp merc on it. What kind of change do you get with stainless props? it runs about 30mph at 5500rpms now.

Probably not much if the pitch and diameter are the same.<br /><br />The SS prop may allow you to run the engine slightly higher on the transom thus allowing for a bit more speed-maybe.

Agreed.<br /><br />If your current prop works to your satisfaction, there really is no reason for replacement.<br /><br />By trimming all settings you may be able to tweak it a little, but hardly to justify the investment.<br /><br />If you have specific problems with the old prop it's a completely different story and a proper advice takes more info and description of the matter.
