Stainless steel staples?

Where do I find stainless staples at? I am replacing some seat backs and bottoms and I want to do it correctly. Thanks

Monel stapels are stocked at all Home Depots and most Lowes.<br />Better that Stainless Steel.<br />Look closely at the display cause they blend in...have a white label stuck to the regular box.

I got stainless at Sears.I could not find monel anywhere including the marine centers.Charlie

Thanks for the info. I found Monel staples at Home Depot. They are basiclly Arrow brand staples (same box as regular) with a white tape strip with pink writing that has the Monel name and rust proof on the tape itself. They are 66% nickel 33% copper. They are hard to miss. Just look for the staples that cost 4 times more than the regular ones. Hehe. Finished replacing the seat bottom wood today. Painted the top side of the plywood with fiberglass resin diluted in acetone. Looks like it will last for ever.

crab bait - Monel is more corrosion resistant than stainless. Plus it's not so hard, so it's not so britlle and easier to work. I *think* OMC drive and prop shafts are Monel...<br />Like bryont said, it's a nickel-copper alloy, and (depending on varity) employs a bit of cobalt.<br />It's main disadvantage is cost.

It's good to know that you can get them locally. A few years back I had to go thru Arrow to get them. I used them to replace the indoor/outdoor carpet on my new trailer bunks and side rails. When I peeled off the old carpet the original staples had disintigrated.<br /><br />Monel is commonly used in many marine applications. I think some inboard drive lines use it.
