On previous thread "Tension On Throttle Return Spring" was told screw on throttle shaft was "staked in". How would I fix it where it won't come loose since I removed the butterfly to remove the shaft and spring ?

Re: Staked In Screw

If it indeed was staked, and if you just merely removed it in the normal fashion, then you wrecked the threads in the throttle shaft and need to get a new one. Don't attempt to put a screw back in the same hole.

An alternative to staking the new one is to use a drop of red locktite on the screw. Whichever route you choose to go, the screw has to be very secure. If it vibrates out, the engine will swallow it and wipe out a piston and cylinder.
