I have a 17 ft. VIP Vison with the 2.3 liter Cobra engine. Had the boat out for the first trip of the year. Went to the other end of the lake and was heading back. We had been traveling for about 25 minutes at planeing speed. All of a sudden the motor just died. I lifted the cover to look at the engine. Everything looked O.K. It started right up and we went back home at idle speed. I then droped everyone off and took the boat back to the ramp at planeing speed with no problems. Everythiing ran smoothly. The only thing I could think of was that it might have gotten to hot and shut down. Is that possible? What else could it be?

Ehh I agree with Bond-O here, I also doubt your engine became overheated enough to completely die and there were no signs, i.e. leaking gaskets, steam, something to point to that being the problem. That is unless you actually referred to your temp gauge and she was in the red. The problem, in a very general and broad sweeping sense sounds like it could be ignitoin related. Possibly bad wire connection between the coil and distributor or something of the like. Those ignition coils can also overheat causing a no-run issue.
