Hello All
I took out that old 73 or 74 115 Evinrude out today and it went pretty well except it stall when I put it in gear. When setting in the water it trottle up fine soon as I put it in gear it act like it wants to cut off and sometime it do. But if I work the trottle control lever back and forward really fast it will take the gas and plane like it suppose to do. The last reply to my post was a good one. Thanks to some wonder friend out there.
Rat.
riverrat@inteliport.com

Re: Stalling Out

Hey Rat.

Do you know what rpms your at at idle?

Your problem could be caused by a few different things. Your low end timing and sync and link may be outta whack.

Your carbs may need a could overhaul...pluggage in idle circuits.

Could be a weak ignition at low end.

May be all thats needed is the idle adjusted up a little. If I recall right, the idle rpm in gear is around 750 to 850rpms. If you have a service manual, check it out. If you don't have one, do get one...they pay dividends.
