Stalling with new plugs

I have a 2001 70Hp Johnson O/B(oil injected). Recently changed spark plugs. The old plugs were for small 2 cycle engines. I replaced with the recommended Marine plugs gapped at .30. Now I have occassional stalling when idling.
I noticed the old plugs had a much wider gap, I did not measure the gap but it was visibly wider.
Could too small of a gap cause a low idle stall problem? Any suggestions? It ran fine before changin the plugs.

Well, let us in on what plugs were in it and what we went to. Kinda hard to see from here.

On the other hand I'm sure it would idle funny gapped at .30 (I'm sure you mean .030)

Either will be fine although I prefer the 77's as they are a bit cooler.

Has the motor been sitting?

No, the motor is run every weekend.

Any idea on why the motor would stall, it starts right back up.
Could it be bad gas, or fuel filter?

Might be running a little lean at idle. If you have low speed adjustment screws on the carbs, I would back each one out 1/2 turn and see what happens. You may or may not have them on that engine..
