i have a 93 120 on a bayliner capri 18 foot. the motor ran great 2 days straight then when i got to the no wake zone to load boat on trailer i noticed the idle slowly getting lower then it died. it started right back up and was still ideling lower than norm then put in gear and it died. once again it started right back up. I can rev the motor all i want it wont die but as soon as i put in gear it dies. on land with muffs it does not die only in the water. any ideas what might be wrong?

thanks for your help

Re: stalling

Start with the basics.
Check compression and spark on all 4 cylinders.

If those check out ok, I would look to the idle mixture screw on the carbs, could be one is partially plugged up.
